- Have your say: Shape our Environment, Social and Governance Strategy
18 March 2025
We have started work on our new Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) Strategy. This strategy is a chance for us to develop a wide range of goals for the next three years, spanning a range of topics from our carbon emissions to our ethical standards to our approach to diversity and inclusion.
Have your say!
We would like your help to create this strategy. Fill in the ESG Strategy consultation survey and your responses will help us shape a meaningful roadmap for the future.
Listening to the views of our staff, volunteers, patients and their families is important to develop a strategy that will make a true difference in the right places.
We want to know what is important to you, what sort of organisation you would like Austin Health to become, and where should we focus our efforts in the next three years.
The survey will take less than 10 minutes and can be done online. Responses can be anonymous or identified. The survey will remain open till 5pm on Thursday 3 April. Please share it with your family and friends who may be patients at Austin Health – the more voices in our community we hear, the better.
If you need help to complete the survey, or for more information, please contact strategy@austin.org.au. If completing this survey brings up issues for you, please reach out to Lifeline on 13 11 14 for support.
Background
What is an ESG Strategy?
An ESG strategy is a document that outlines our commitment to environmental sustainability and socially responsible business practices. Its purpose is to consider the environmental, social and governance improvements we can make across every aspect of our organisation, so we can contribute to our community in a positive way.
Our ESG Strategy will cover a broad range of goals including, but not limited to:
- promoting diversity, equity and inclusion
- welcoming and respecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
- articulating our commitment to climate change action
- ensuring good use of public resources
- upholding ethical standards
- enhancing transparency in reporting
The strategy will also align to our vision as Austin Health, include achievable, measurable targets, align to our current operations, and balance our core operational responsibilities with environmental and social impact.
