During this review, we will ask if you still require a planned procedure.
Why we contact you
We review our planned procedure waiting lists to:
- keep our records up to date
- stay in touch while you wait for this procedure
- ensure all patients have the best opportunity for timely treatment by confirming if you still require the procedure.
How we contact you
- If you have provided a mobile number, we will send you a text message (SMS) with a link.
- This SMS will come from VicKey, who we partner with for this review.
- The unique and secure link will point to the VicKey website: vickey.org.au
- If you are waiting for more than one appointment, you will receive a separate message for each waiting list.
Responding to a waiting list review
Step 1: Click the link in the SMS.
Step 2: Sign in to the VicKey website using your last name and date of birth.
Step 3: Answer the question 'Do you still require this procedure?' by selecting one of the following responses:
- ‘Yes’ – if you still need this planned procedure. You’ll also be asked to provide any dates in the next three months when you won’t be available to accept a procedure date.
- ‘No’ – if you no longer require this planned procedure. For example, if you have been treated elsewhere or if your condition has improved.
What happens after I respond?
If you respond ‘yes’
- You will stay on the waiting list.
- We will contact you when a planned procedure booking is available.
If you respond ‘no’
- A member of the planned procedure booking team will be in contact to confirm removing you from the waiting list.
- Once confirmed we will send you and your GP a letter in the mail notifying you of the removal.
- If you need care in the future, a new referral from your GP will be required.
We acknowledge the delays in our service and are actively working to reduce wait times and improve access to care.
